Second edition of TRANSATLANTYK International Film and Music Festival!
Founded by Jan, the Festival gathered over 40 thousand viewers and participants this year! Aside from carrying on with the events that had been hugely popular during the first edition, TRANSATLANTYK also introduced a few novelties – e.g. the first ever Bed-In Open-Air Cinema, which allowed the audience to watch films in beds designed especially for the Festival, equipped with film projectors and soundsystems.
Within the free and open Master Classes, held in Poznan and Rozbitek Institute, outstanding specialists from all film and music professions shared their knowledge and experience with young filmmakers. Two unique film music competitions took place: TRANSATLANTYK Film Music Competition and TRANSATLANTYK Instant Composition Contest (in which the participants had to instantly compose music for a short filmclip they had just seen).
The most important award of the Festival – Glocal Hero Award 2012 – went to Elżbieta and Krzysztof Penderecki. Over 170 films were screened within 18 sections, two theater plays were staged and the biggest festival events were broadcast by TVP. More info at: http://www.transatlantyk.org/en.
