MasterClass "Composing for Film" at the Dublin Internationl Film FestivalFebruary 27, 2016

During the Dublin International Film Festival Jan led a Master Class on "Composing for Film" at The Royal Irish Academy of Music. The Master Class for music students and young composers was hosted by Bill Whelan.

TRANSATLANTYK Festival 2015 inspired, moved and entertained 65 thousands of spectators!

August 7th to 14th 2015

Almost 65 thousand people participated in hundreds of film, music and educational events in Poznań and Greater Poland! They filled movie theaters during the screenings. There were crowds at the Transatlantyk: Škoda Mobile Cinema evenings and the Cinema in Bed at Plac Wolności. Viewers took part in inspiring and often stormy discussions at 78 meetings, panel discussions and workshops in the halls of Culture Centre Zamek in CineBedLibraTec and on the green festival stairs. Prominent artists from around the world were at the audience's fingertips. The best Polish chefs came to the Culinary Cinema, the event programmed together with the creators of the Berlinale. Talented young composers participated in unique competitions of live improvisation and film music.
The main theme of the 5th edition of the festival was chaos.

Jan received the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Reborn PolandJuly 1, 2015

Polish President Bronisław Komorowski decorated Jan with the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Reborn Poland (the Order of Polonia Restituta) for his outstanding artistic achievements and the promotion of Polish Culture.

The new film scored by Jan – "Dancing Before The Enemy: How a teenage boy fooled the Nazis and lived", directed and produced by Adam Bardach – had its premiere at the 30. Warsaw Film Festival.

Fourth edition of TRANSATLANTYK Festival 2014 gathered over 60 thousand people!

The World Premiere of "Universa – Open Opera"May 10, 2014

The World Premiere of new Jan's musical-historical performance "Universa – Open Opera", celebrating the 650th Jubilee of the Jagiellonian University, was held on Kraków Main Market Square.

On Saturday evening thousands of listeners enjoyed the opera performed by Sinfonietta Cracovia (led by Monika Wolińska), Polish Radio Choir, Cracow Academic Choir of the Jagiellonian University and soloists: Iwona Sobotka, Małgorzata Walewska, Julia Pietrucha and Szymon Komasa.
